Alex Cora will lead a delegation of more than a dozen Boston Red Sox players, executives and other representatives to his hometown of Caguas, Puerto Rico, on Saturday to celebrate with the World Series trophy.

Cora became the first Puerto Rican manager to win the World Series when he led the Red Sox past the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the Fall Classic last Sunday. He had said during the postgame trophy presentation that he intended to visit the island with the trophy.

Cora will be joined by Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, president and CEO Sam Kennedy, assistant hitting coach Andy Barkett and first base coach Tom Goodwin. Players making the trip include left-handers David Price and Eduardo Rodriguez, utility man Brock Holt and catchers Sandy Leon and Christian Vazquez.

Caguas is located approximately 16 miles south of San Juan. The group of Red Sox will be greeted upon landing by Caguas Mayor William Miranda Torres.

The trip to Puerto Rico will be Cora's second as Red Sox manager. In January, Cora and the team delivered nearly 10 tons of supplies to aid Hurricane Maria recovery efforts.
