Telangana CM asks officials to take steps for implementing two poll 'guarantees' soon

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday directed officials to draw up a plan of action for the implementation of three poll guarantees of the ruling Congress, including LPG cylinder for Rs 500.He instructed them to take steps to implement two of the three guarantees soon.Reddy held a review meeting with the members of cabinet sub-committee on the guarantees and officials on the applications received from citizens vis-a-vis the guarantees promised schemes, an official release said.The CM advised the state finance department to allocate necessary funds for the proposed schemes in the budget.

He instructed them to take steps to implement two of the three 'guarantees' soon.

Reddy held a review meeting with the members of cabinet sub-committee on the 'guarantees' and officials on the applications received from citizens vis-a-vis the 'guarantees' (promised schemes), an official release said.

The CM advised the state finance department to allocate necessary funds for the proposed schemes in the budget. The CM said he will hold another meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee before the assembly session and take a final decision.

The state government conducted 'Praja Palana' (people's governance) programme from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024 across the state. The government received applications from people, who are eligible to avail the benefit of five 'guarantees' during the exercise. A total of 1,09,01,255 applications were registered and their data entry was also completed in a record time, it said. The state government had earlier initiated two schemes -- free travel for women in state-run Road Transport Corporation (RTC) buses and the health scheme of Rs 10 lakh for poor.

The two schemes were part of the six poll 'guarantees' announced by the Congress.
