Decoration materials, four-wheeler gutted in fire in Nagpur city

A fire destroyed decoration materials kept in the open near a house, triggered multiple cylinder blasts and reduced a four-wheeler to ashes in Nagpur city on Monday night, police said.

No injuries were reported in the fire incident which took place at around 9 pm near the residence of one Raju Sagarkar, owner of Saoji Decoration, located in New Diamond Nagar, they said.

According to the police, the fire started in the vicinity of the decoration materials stored in an open area near Sagarkar's residence.

The blaze caused multiple LPG cylinder explosions and completely destroyed a four-wheeler belonging to the local businessman, they said.

The blaze was later doused, said the police, adding no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.
