Television footage captured firefighters meticulously shifting rubble by hand, working tirelessly to locate survivors in the debris of the three-story building in Kucukcekmece on Istanbul's European side. According to broadcaster CNN Turk, two injured individuals have already been rescued.

The Istanbul governor's office reported that the structure fell at 8:40 am local time. While the precise cause remains under investigation, it's worth noting that enforcement of building regulations in Turkiye came under scrutiny last year when a magnitude 7.8 earthquake claimed over 59,000 lives in southern Turkiye and Syria.
