Massive Fire Engulfs Southeast Delhi's Shaheen Bagh, No Casualties Reported

A major fire broke out in southeast Delhi's Shaheen Bagh area affecting three restaurants, two shops, and flats. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The cause is suspected to be a short circuit in electric wires. Fire services took around one and a half hours to control the blaze.

A devastating fire erupted in southeast Delhi's Shaheen Bagh on Saturday, leading to the destruction of three restaurants, two shops, and two flats. Thankfully, no casualties were reported. Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials received a call at 5.44 PM about a blaze that allegedly began due to a short circuit in electric wires outside Zaika Restaurant.

Riyaz, a member of the Shaheen Bagh Resident Welfare Association, said that local police were promptly informed. However, despite the quick arrival of the police, fire engines were delayed, allowing the fire to spread. Around 18 fire tenders were deployed, taking an hour and a half to douse the flames.

Police and DFS officials confirmed that, although the fire's intensity was alarming, no LPG cylinder blasts or additional incidents occurred. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the precise cause of the fire. Station officer Praveen Kumar noted that despite the swift action, the narrow lanes posed a significant challenge for fire engines.
