Blazes Ravage Markets in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts

In two separate fire incidents, a vegetable market in Thokkuttu near Mangaluru and a furniture shop in Udupi district were severely damaged. Authorities are investigating potential electrical short circuits as the cause. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blazes, according to regional fire officer CR Ranganath.

In a span of just two days, devastating fires erupted in two different locations within Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, resulting in significant damage. Authorities disclosed that the first fire consumed a vegetable and fruit market in Kallapu village near Mangaluru early Monday morning.

Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene and managed to control the blaze. While the exact cause remains under investigation, regional fire officer CR Ranganath mentioned that an electrical short circuit is among the possible reasons behind the fire.

In a separate incident that occurred late Sunday evening, another fire broke out in a furniture and electronics shop located in Trasi town, Kundapur taluk of Udupi district. Firefighters also battled this blaze effectively, ensuring that no further damage was inflicted. Investigations are ongoing to pinpoint the precise causes of both incidents.
