As Delhi contends with an escalating water crisis, Water Minister Atishi has mobilized Quick Response Teams to meticulously inspect major pipelines for potential leakages. These initiatives aim to mitigate wastage amid severe shortages.
Comprising Additional District Magistrate/Sub Divisional Magistrate-level officers alongside tehsildars, these Quick Response Teams bear the crucial responsibility of provisioning water tankers and promptly addressing water-related complaints. Their chief mandate involves monitoring the primary water distribution network—from sources to treatment plants and underground reservoirs.
Minister Atishi has underscored the urgency of the situation, emphasizing that any detected leakages must be repaired within 12 hours to prevent water wastage during this critical juncture. A daily report outlining inspection outcomes will be submitted to her office by 5 pm each day.
In light of Delhi's acute water shortage exacerbated by a relentless heatwave, special teams have been deployed as part of comprehensive measures aimed at preserving every drop of water. These dedicated efforts are documented in a recent post by Atishi, highlighting the city's steadfast resolve toward efficient water management.
