Rescuers in Nepal have recovered the body of a 40-year-old Indian national, identified as Rishi Pal Shahi, among three corpses recovered on Saturday from the wreckage of two buses that were swept by a mudslide into the rain-swollen Trishuli River. The buses were carrying 54 passengers, including seven Indian nationals.

The buses went missing on Friday in the landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road in Chitwan district. The first body was found 50 kilometers away from the accident site, while the other two, identified as Nepali nationals, were recovered from the Gaindakot area in East Nawalparasi district.

More than 500 security personnel, including those from the Nepali Army and Nepal Police, as well as deep divers, have been mobilized for the search operation, using motorboats and drones. The Armed Police Force has also deployed a water drone to locate the missing buses, resuming search efforts on Saturday morning after being halted the previous evening due to high water currents and muddy conditions.
