In a dramatic turn of events, families and friends of the three deceased students expressed their anger at RML Hospital after they were denied access to see the bodies. The victims, Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Navin Dalwin from Kerala, lost their lives when the coaching center basement they were in flooded due to heavy rains in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, officials said.
At the RML mortuary, a heart-wrenching wait ensued for the families of the deceased. Friends who arrived at the hospital also voiced their outrage over the incident.
Dharmender Yadav, Shreya Yadav’s uncle, recounted his ordeal. 'I learnt about the incident through news channels and tried calling her, but her phone was off. Even the coaching center's number was unreachable. When I reached her place, it was locked. I later met the DCP at the coaching center, who directed me to RML Hospital. At the hospital, I was not allowed to see her body, although they confirmed its receipt,' he said.
Shreya, a BSc agriculture graduate, had joined the coaching center in May. Her family and friends waited at the hospital since 10 am and eventually left with her body at 1:43 pm.
