Over 30 Missing After Cloudburst in Shimla's Rampur Subdivision

Over 30 people are unaccounted for after a cloudburst hit the Jhakhari area of Rampur, Shimla district. The disaster led to washed-away roads and damage to a hydro power project. Rescue operations involving various agencies and drone technology are underway.

Over 30 people are missing following a cloudburst in Jhakhari area of Rampur subdivision of Shimla district early Thursday, according to officials.

Roads have been washed away and a hydro power project in the area has sustained damage, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap informed PTI.

Rescue operations have been initiated by teams from the National Disaster Response Force, Indo Tibetan Border Police, police, and home guards, with drones being deployed to locate the missing individuals, he added.
