Jyotiraditya M Scindia tests 5G call using indigenous technology

During the visit, Minister Scindia made a pilot 5G call using BSNL's live network, showcasing the capabilities of indigenously developed 5G Radio and 5G core (NSA) technologies.

Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, alongside Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications & Rural Development, inaugurated the Network Operations Centre at the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) Delhi Campus today.

Indigenous Cybersecurity Infrastructure: The new Network Operations Centre features advanced, indigenously developed security infrastructure designed to identify and monitor cyber threats in the national telecom network. The system can detect various malicious activities, including malware, ransomware, denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, DNS amplification, and malicious domain communications.

5G Call Demonstration: During the visit, Minister Scindia made a pilot 5G call using BSNL's live network, showcasing the capabilities of indigenously developed 5G Radio and 5G core (NSA) technologies.

Centre of Innovation and ITU Office: The Ministers also toured the CDOT Centre of Innovation and the ITU area office on the CDOT campus, engaging with entrepreneurs supported by CDOT.

Review of Indigenous Technologies: The Ministers reviewed C-DOT's ongoing technology programs, including developments in 4G/5G, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Cyber Security solutions, Disaster Management Cell broadcast solutions, and optical security projects. Shri Scindia interacted with young engineers and researchers, who demonstrated innovative telecom technologies in various labs.

Support for Innovation: Both Ministers praised C-DOT's efforts in creating indigenous telecom products and solutions, including a fully developed end-to-end 4G/5G system. They recognized these achievements as significant contributions towards the Government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' vision and assured continued support and encouragement for research and innovation.

Commitment to Excellence: Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to advancing state-of-the-art telecom technologies and solutions.
