Heavy Rains Lead to Evacuations and Flooding in South Gujarat
Heavy rains in Navsari and Valsad districts of South Gujarat caused major rivers to overflow, leading to the evacuation of over 1,000 people from waterlogged areas. The National Disaster Response Force and local authorities have been working to rescue and relocate affected residents. Significant rainfall and water levels in reservoirs are causing alerts.

Heavy rains in the Navsari and Valsad districts of South Gujarat caused rivers to overflow, prompting the evacuation of over 1,000 residents from waterlogged areas on Monday.
Khergam taluka in Navsari district experienced 229 mm of rainfall in 24 hours up to 6 AM on Monday. Over 12 talukas in the Dangs and Tapi districts also recorded more than 100 mm of rainfall, as per the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
The Aurang River in Valsad taluka crossed the danger mark due to persistent rain, while floodwaters from the Kaveri and Ambika rivers inundated low-lying areas in Navsari. Around 1,000 people in Gandevi taluka were relocated, and seven laborers stranded in a pond were rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Sunday. The state has issued high alerts due to high water levels in numerous reservoirs.
