Kerala Braces for Heavy Rainfall with IMD Alert

Several places in Kerala saw intermittent rains on Saturday, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting very heavy rainfall in the northern districts of Palakkad and Malappuram. Authorities have placed these areas under an Orange alert, advising people to move to safer locations and avoid crossing or bathing in water bodies.

Several parts of Kerala experienced intermittent rains on Saturday, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted significant rainfall over the coming days in various districts.

According to the latest IMD update, the northern districts of Palakkad and Malappuram have been placed under an ''Orange alert'' for Sunday.

This alert has also been issued for Pathanamthitta and Idukki on August 12, and for Palakkad, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki on August 13, indicating very heavy rain ranging from 11 cm to 20 cm.
