Heavy rainfall lashed various parts of Delhi on Saturday, disrupting morning traffic and causing waterlogging across the city.
The Public Works Department reported 20 complaints of waterlogged streets, while the Municipal Corporation of Delhi received five similar complaints and notices of uprooted trees. Delhi's maximum temperature settled at 32.8°C, slightly below the seasonal average.
Rainfall was substantial in east, south, and west Delhi, with the Ridge observatory recording 22.8 mm from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Traffic jams were significant on Rohtak Road due to potholes and waterlogging. The Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to avoid Mundka and take alternative routes accordingly.
Other affected areas included Fateh Singh Marg, Old Kakrola Road, and Najafgarh near Shyam Vihar Chowk, where potholes and collected water hampered traffic flow.
Humidity levels hovered between 91% and 92%. The meteorological department forecasted a cloudy sky with moderate rain for Sunday, expecting maximum temperatures around 32°C and minimums at 26°C. Rainfall reports from various observatories were also noted, with the city's AQI categorized as satisfactory at a reading of 71.
