Itanagar to Get Ropeway System and Electric Buses
Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, is gearing up to enhance its urban transport infrastructure with a ropeway system and electric buses. The Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation, Tamme Phassang, announced that discussions for installing the ropeway are nearing completion, while 10 electric buses will soon operate in the city.

Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, is set to elevate its urban transport infrastructure with the introduction of a ropeway system and electric buses.
The Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Tamme Phassang, announced Tuesday night that the discussions for the ropeway installation have reached the final stages.
IMC is currently engaging with companies from Hyderabad and Gujarat to finalize the project. The proposed ropeway aims to provide a scenic and efficient transport route, linking key areas such as Lobi in Division 4, the Secretariat, Ganga Market, and Chimpu.
Alongside the ropeway, IMC is also collaborating with Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) to launch 10 electric buses in Itanagar, with a potential for future expansion based on the success of initial trials.
Mayor Phassang remarked that these developments showcase IMC's commitment to modernizing the city's transport network and promoting sustainable urban mobility.
