Tragedy Strikes Zakir Nagar: Death Toll Rises in House Collapse

A tragic incident unfolded in Zakir Nagar, where a three-storey house collapse has claimed 10 lives, as the district administration confirmed on Sunday. Rescue teams are diligently working at the site, with concerns that one person may still be trapped under the debris.
Among the deceased are Sajid (40), his daughter Saniya (15), son Saqib (11), along with younger children Simra (one-and-half years), Reeza (7), and Rimsa (5 months). The victims also include Naffo (63), Farhana (20), Alisa (18), and Aliya (6). According to the administration, the condition of Sofiyan (6) is stable.
Four injured individuals, Naeem (22), Nadeem (26), Saqib (20), and Saina (38), are currently being treated at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College. The catastrophic collapse, which took place on Saturday afternoon, trapped 15 people under the rubble. Senior officials, including Meerut Zone Additional Director General of Police D K Thakur, and others have arrived at the scene to supervise the ongoing rescue operations being conducted by NDRF, fire brigade, and police teams.
