In a bid to curb winter pollution, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has initiated a large-scale bio-decomposer spraying drive in the capital's farmlands. The strategy, part of a comprehensive 21-point action plan, aims to reduce stubble burning ahead of the winter season and enhance soil fertility.
Launched in Palla village, Narela, the initiative will cover over 5,000 acres of basmati and non-basmati rice fields and involves collaboration with agricultural experts from the Pusa Institute. A streamlined process allows farmers to easily avail themselves of the service, with 841 farmers already registered.
The effort forms part of broader strategies by the Aam Aadmi Party to tackle pollution levels, which have seen a significant decrease in recent years. The government continues to promote awareness of bio-decomposer benefits among farmers to ensure successful implementation.
