Maharashtra's Grand Waste-to-Fertiliser Project Set to Transform Thane
Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced a new waste-to-fertiliser project in Thane, touted to be the state's largest. The plant will process 300-400 tons of wet waste daily and has received forestry approvals. It will be located near Sanjay Gandhi National Park and the Tungareshwar forest range.

The Maharashtra Transport Minister, Pratap Sarnaik, has revealed a groundbreaking waste-to-fertiliser initiative set to become the largest in the state. The plant, located in Thane, will handle an impressive 300 to 400 tons of wet waste each day across a three-acre site.
Sarnaik, serving the Ovala-Majiwada constituency, asserted that the project has received necessary clearances from the Forest Department. This approval is crucial as the site lies in proximity to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and the Tungareshwar forest range.
With an investment of Rs 150 crore, the project aims to set a benchmark in eco-friendly waste management, promising significant environmental benefits to the region.
