The national capital of India, Delhi, has reported a significant reduction in fire-related fatalities for the year 2025. Recent data from the Delhi Fire Services indicates a notable 67.57 percent decline when compared to the same period last year.

From the start of the year until March 11, a total of 12 individuals have lost their lives in fire incidents, a stark contrast to the 37 deaths recorded during the same timeframe in 2024. Despite the encouraging statistics, incidents of tragic fires persist. A recent fire near AGCR Enclave in East Delhi claimed three lives, including two brothers.

Analyzing the data further reveals that the Delhi Fire Services handled 938 calls in January 2025, with six fatalities, and 1,076 calls in February with two fatalities. By March 11, 455 calls were received, resulting in four deaths. The data from the previous year records 116 fatalities across various fire-related incidents. Efforts to improve safety and reduce fire incidents are ongoing.
