Maharashtra's Rs 200 Crore Plan to Combat Water Woes Awaits Approval

A Rs 200 crore proposal designed to tackle flooding and address water scarcity in Vasai, within the Palghar district, is currently pending approval from the Maharashtra government, according to the local MLA, Sneha Pandit-Dubey.

Pandit-Dubey emphasized her commitment to accelerating the approval process to mitigate the region's seasonal monsoon challenges and ensure a steady water supply amid rapid urbanization.

Although a NEERI survey has been conducted, the MLA advocates for a detailed study by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology to guide the project. The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation has submitted the proposal, aiming for completion within the next two years.
