On Monday, powerful gusts hampered firefighting efforts, leading to the destruction of forest and pasture land and forcing numerous residents to seek safety. Reports indicated damage to infrastructure, including power cuts, emphasizing the growing environmental and economic toll of these incidents on Greece.

As wildfires become more frequent due to climate change, Greece has allocated hundreds of millions of euros for damage compensation and modern firefighting equipment. In anticipation of a challenging fire season, a record number of firefighters have been deployed to safeguard the country.
