In a tragic accident on the bustling roads of Delhi's Dwarka area, a 32-year-old woman lost her life after allegedly dozing off while riding pillion on a motorcycle. The incident, which occurred on Monday evening, was confirmed by police sources on Wednesday.

Sumitra Devi, identified as a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur, fell headfirst onto the road near the Shyam Vihar flyover. Despite the swift intervention of a police control room unit that transported her to a nearby hospital, she was declared dead on arrival, having suffered severe head injuries.

The motorcycle, driven by her husband Rakesh Kumar—a mason and daily wage labourer—has been impounded for a forensic examination as part of the investigation. CCTV footage is being scrutinized, although initial findings suggest an unfortunate accident. The family has since taken her body back to their hometown for last rites.
