In a recent development, two low-intensity tremors were recorded in Vijayapura district on Monday, both registering a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale. According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), the first tremor was centered 2.9 kilometers east-northeast of Honwad Gram Panchayat in Tikota Taluk, occurring at 11:41 am.

The second tremor was detected at Mangoli Gram Panchayat in Basavana Bagewadi Taluk. Occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers, these seismic events have been classified as low-intensity. The KSNDMC's Seismic Intensity map indicates that these tremors, with a possible impact radius of 20-30 kilometers, are unlikely to cause harm.

Despite the slight vibrations that may have been felt locally, KSNDMC has reassured residents that the area's Seismic Zone-3 classification and lack of structural discontinuities contribute to minimal risk. Authorities emphasize that there is no cause for concern due to the earthquakes' low magnitude and intensity.
