Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the chief of Biocon, met with Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, D K Shivakumar, on Diwali. The meeting occurred amidst Shaw's continued criticism of Bengaluru's infrastructure issues through her social media channels.
During her visit to the CM's official residence, Cauvery, Mazumdar-Shaw expressed Diwali greetings while also emphasizing the urgent need for infrastructure improvements in the city. The event was also attended by Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti.
The state has faced extensive criticism over road conditions and traffic congestion, with industry veterans like Shaw and former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai urging governmental action. Deputy CM Shivakumar countered the criticism by asking business leaders to remember their roots and remain patient as solutions are pursued.
