Tragedy struck in Bengaluru when two nursing students, Sterlin Eliza Shaji and Justin Joseph, both from Kerala, lost their lives after allegedly being hit by a Vande Bharat Express train on the city's outskirts.
The incident unfolded around 2:35 p.m. on a Sunday as the students were reportedly crossing railway tracks in proximity to the Chikkabanavara railway station. They were en route to their accommodation when the Belagavi-bound train, departing from Bengaluru, collided with them, claiming their lives instantly.
Amidst the investigation, law enforcement is scrutinizing CCTV footage to ascertain if the tragic deaths were accidental or potentially a suicide. An Unnatural Death Report has been filed, and further inquiries are being conducted by the Bengaluru Rural Railway Police Station.
