In a critical operation against wildlife crime, five suspected poachers have been apprehended in Assam's Biswanath district, armed with weapons and ammunition near the revered Kaziranga National Park.
Officials from the Eastern Range and the Crime Investigation Range of the Biswanath Wildlife Division, alongside the Gamari unit, executed the operation along the park's fringe areas, successfully intercepting the suspects.
Authorities believe the group of seven intended to poach rhinos using a rifle sourced from a neighboring state, marking a significant step in thwarting wildlife crime, as 12 individuals have been detained over the last 10 days in connection with such crimes.
