Tragedy Strikes as Ceiling Collapse Claims Life in Thane
A man died and his wife and son were injured in Thane due to a ceiling collapse in their apartment. The building is 16 years old and not classified as dangerous. The incident occurred overnight, with plaster unexpectedly falling on the family, resulting in one fatality and minor injuries.

A tragic incident unfolded in Thane when a 45-year-old man was killed, and his wife and son sustained injuries as a section of plaster from their apartment ceiling collapsed. The accident took place in a 16-year-old, seven-storey building that is not marked as dangerous, according to officials.
The collapse occurred in the early hours at around 3 a.m. in Karumdev Society. Yasin Tadvi, Chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell, confirmed that the affected apartment was on the terrace floor and the occupants were asleep when the ceiling gave way.
The injured, Arpita More and her son Arush, are recovering from minor injuries. Unfortunately, Manoj More succumbed to chest injuries at a private hospital. This incident has raised questions about the structural integrity of older residential structures in the area.
