In a testament to his groundbreaking contributions to entomological research, Navneet Singh of the Zoological Survey of India was awarded the esteemed Professor TN Ananthakrishnan Award. The ceremony took place during a national dialogue on 'Insects in Health, Agriculture and Environment' in Bengaluru, highlighting Singh's impact on taxonomy.

Recognized widely for his expertise in classical taxonomy, Singh has made remarkable strides in the ecological study of lepidoptera, including moths and butterflies. Since 2010, his pioneering research has reshaped India's approach to understanding its biodiversity, earning him this significant accolade.

Singh's distinguished achievements include describing a new superfamily and family, identifying 20 new genera and 191 new species. He has also published 230 scholarly papers and five monographs, alongside authoring 'An Illustrated Guide to the Lepidoptera of India', which documents 101 families of butterflies and moths.
