Nepal and WWF Forge Partnership for Sustainable Conservation

Nepal's Ministry of Forests and Environment and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) signed a pivotal agreement to boost biodiversity conservation and sustainable development across Nepal. This 'Scope of Cooperation' aligns with both national priorities and global commitments in areas such as biodiversity, climate change, and sustainable development, the WWF Nepal stated in a recent press release.
The policy frameworks underline the importance of conserving biological resources as key to sustainable development. It further emphasizes landscape-level strategies and species conservation plans to facilitate effective implementation. WWF Nepal's collaboration mirrors a shared commitment to protect the nation's rich biodiversity while enhancing livelihoods for those reliant on nature.
As part of this decade-long partnership, WWF Nepal will deploy up to USD 40 million, contingent on available funding, to advance efforts in conservation landscapes and protected areas. The Ministry will work closely with WWF and other entities to ensure that resources and expertise are aligned to deliver tangible benefits for ecosystems and communities.
