In an inspection conducted by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in Noida, 28 instances of high visible road dust and accumulation of construction and demolition waste were observed at multiple locations in Noida, said officials on Saturday. The assessment revealed deficiencies in regular sweeping operations, dust suppression measures, and the scientific handling and disposal of construction and demolition waste at certain stretches. The commission has directed the concerned authorities to intensify dust mitigation measures through regular mechanised sweeping, targeted water sprinkling, and timely lifting and disposal of accumulated construction and demolition waste,'' said an official. The inspection took place on Friday by 19 flying squad teams of the CAQM, and focused on visible road dust levels, review of road cleaning, and sweeping operations in Noida. ''Road dust remains a major contributor to particulate pollution in urban areas and requires sustained and focused mitigation efforts,'' said the official. After the assessment, the CAQM stressed the need for continuous field-level vigilance, improved maintenance practices, and accountability-driven implementation of dust control measures.
