Daring Rescue: Leopard Strayed into Village Shed in Jammu and Kashmir

In Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, wildlife officials successfully rescued a leopard that had strayed into a village. The big cat sought refuge in a villager's shed, inciting fear among local residents.
Upon receiving reports, a team swiftly reached the Paka Kotha area to initiate the rescue. Officials found the injured leopard trapped in a cluttered store room, making the operation particularly challenging. After a cautious assessment, the team tranquilized the animal through the shed's tin roof.
Following the successful rescue, the leopard was transferred to Manda Zoo. Villagers, relieved by the outcome, expressed concerns over frequent wildlife incursions, urging measures to mitigate the escalating human-wildlife conflict in the region.
