The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) marked a significant step towards sustainable transport by initiating a complimentary bus shuttle service for its employees. Furthermore, it announced a 50% concession in parking fees for electric vehicles, effective from May 18, reflecting its commitment to energy-efficient practices.
The shuttle services, intended to enhance convenience for NDMC staff, will operate from key residential areas including Palika Awas and Sarojini Nagar, transporting employees to Palika Kendra. This service will also be expanded to cover additional localities from Monday, enhancing connectivity across the city.
Complementing these efforts, an electric vehicle (EV) auto and scooter service has been launched to connect with metro stations and provide last-mile connectivity. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for increased fuel conservation, furthering the national vision of 'Green Mobility' and 'Sustainable Urban Transport.'
