During a visit to state-run fishery farms in Lengpui, near Mizoram's capital Aizawl, Singh distributed fish seed to farmers, emphasizing the importance of utilizing local resources. Central initiatives aim to increase fish production and better the lives of those involved in the industry.
While acknowledging India as a leading global fish producer, Singh noted that the northeastern states still hold immense growth potential. He encouraged local fishermen to focus on utilizing Mizoram's abundant natural resources to increase output.
Joining Singh were SP Singh Baghel, George Kurian, and Mizoram's fisheries minister Lalthansanga. The visit underscored the central government's commitment to invigorating the fishing sector and supporting farmer livelihoods across the nation.
