Earthquake hits Nicobar Islands region

An earthquake has hit the region of the Nicobar Islands in the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. The magnitude of the quake that occurred at 2:49 pm measured 4.6 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located Latitude 8.9 North and Longitude 93.4 East at a depth of 10 km.
