Rugby: Scotland's Hogg to miss November tests after ankle surgery

Glasgow Warriors full-back Stuart Hogg will miss Scotland's November internationals after undergoing ankle surgery, the Pro14 club said on Friday.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury in Glasgow's win over Munster earlier this month but carried on playing until the closing stages of the match.

He traveled to South Africa but did not feature in Glasgow's win over the Cheetahs and was sent back to Scotland for surgery.

"I'm gutted to be missing some important games for Glasgow Warriors and Scotland over the next few months," Hogg, capped 62 times by Scotland, said in a statement.

"My focus just now is working hard and getting fit, so I can play my part in what is a long season.

"I'd like to thank the medical staff at Glasgow Warriors and BMI Ross Hall Hospital for all their care and support."

Warriors confirmed Hogg is set to spend around 10-12 weeks on the sidelines.

Scotland faces Wales in Cardiff on Nov. 3 before taking on Fiji, South Africa, and Argentina at Murrayfield.
