Quarterback Jameis Winston took over for Ryan Fitzpatrick to start the second half of Sunday's 48-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell behind 38-3 at halftime and Winston, who has suspended the first three games, came onto the field to open the third quarter with Fitzpatrick struggling.
Fitzpatrick became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 400-plus yards in the first three games of the season.
He was 9 of 18 for 126 yards and an interception in the first half Sunday at Soldier Field.
Winston completed his first five passes to start the third quarter, including a fourth-down conversion on Tampa Bay's opening drive of the second half before a tipped ball was intercepted by Danny Trevathan.
Winston finished 16 of 20 for 145 yards, one touchdown and two picks.
Asked afterwards if Winston showed enough to be the Bucs' starter against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5, head coach Dirk Koetter said "probably."
