Paulo Fonseca Joins AC Milan: A New Era Begins

Paulo Fonseca has been appointed as the new head coach of AC Milan, signing a three-year contract. Fonseca replaces Stefano Pioli with the task of elevating Milan's competitive edge against city rival and Serie A champion Inter Milan. Fonseca's previous coaching experience includes tenures at Roma, Lille, and Shakhtar Donetsk.

In a significant move, AC Milan announced on Thursday the hiring of Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach. The Portuguese manager, who signed a three-year contract, is expected to boost Milan's competitiveness against city rival and Serie A champion Inter Milan.

Fonseca comes in to replace Stefano Pioli, who departed the club after five transformative years that saw Milan clinch the 2022 Serie A title. Despite finishing second last season, Milan trailed Inter by a staggering 19 points and suffered defeats in both their matches against them.

Fonseca brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached at Roma, Lille, and Shakhtar Donetsk, and now faces the challenge of returning Milan to domestic and European glory.
