Dion Myers announced his return to cricket after a three-year hiatus with an energetic fifty against India in the third T20I, describing the innings as "surreal." Myers, who took a break in 2021 to pursue a university degree in England, scored a 49-ball 66 despite Zimbabwe losing the match. India leads the five-match T20I series 2-1.

Prior to this series, Myers last played for Zimbabwe against Ireland in September 2021. Expressing joy at his return, Myers thanked his teammates and family for their support during tough times. "It's incredible to be back. I really appreciate the support from my team and family," he said at a press conference. Myers also described his time away from cricket as a "blessing in disguise," allowing him to reflect and grow.

Returning wasn't easy for the 21-year-old, who was dismissed for a duck in the second T20I and faced a challenging over bowled by Indian opener Abhishek Sharma. Despite these setbacks, Myers maintained his confidence and viewed the experiences as learning opportunities. "It was a tough but valuable experience. I believe it's important to face challenges head-on," Myers stated.
