Inter Milan has bolstered its squad by signing Iranian international striker Mehdi Taremi on a three-year contract, the Serie A champions announced on Saturday. Taremi, 31, joins the team on a free transfer from FC Porto, marking a historic milestone as the first Iranian player to don Inter's colors.

'Serie A is one of the most prestigious leagues in the world. I will try to do my best as I have always done until now,' Taremi stated in an interview with Inter TV. The Iranian forward aims to make a significant impact in the Italian league.

Taremi's acquisition follows the signings of free-agent midfielder Piotr Zielinski and goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa, making him Inter Milan's third new addition in the ongoing transfer window.
