By Shaurya Dutt: As the UEFA Euro 2024 final approaches, former Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia has critiqued England's performance, stating they haven't played to their full potential in the tournament.

Spain and England are set to clash in the grand finale at Germany's Olympiastadion Berlin Stadium. Bhutia, 41, remarked that England's switch from a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-3 formation was pivotal in their semi-final victory against the Netherlands.

"England hasn't truly played to their capabilities. Their semi-final against Holland was a standout match, showing their improvement, especially with the formation change," Bhutia told ANI. He also mentioned England's luck factor in crucial moments and described Spain as a formidable opponent.

"Luck has favored England, with key goals in the 90th or 100th minutes. Spain, the favorites, will pose a significant challenge," Bhutia added. Despite struggles, England's semi-final performance was their best, dominating possession and shots on target.

Under head coach Luis de la Fuente, Spain has impressed with their tiki-taka style, driven by creative forwards Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams. Their defensive resilience, led by Robin Le Normand and Aymeric Laporte, has supported their strong attacking play.

Spain's fluid attack has yielded 13 goals from 108 attempts, making them strong contenders. Bhutia, who debuted for India in 1995 and retired in 2011, scored 42 goals in 104 appearances.
