Indian K9 Commandos Secure Paris Olympics Against Threats

Ten specially-trained Indian dogs from CAPF and special commando forces have been deployed in France for the Paris Olympics. These Belgian Malinois will perform counter-terrorist and anti-sabotage tasks. Part of an international security collaboration, the teams underwent rigorous training and will work closely with French security agencies.

Ten specially-trained Indian CAPF and special commando force dogs are currently in France to provide counter-terrorist and anti-sabotage security at venues for the Paris Olympics, scheduled to begin next week, according to official sources.

The K9 teams, drawn from various Indian forces like CRPF, SSB, ITBP, NSG, and Assam Rifles, will carry out sniffing and patrolling duties following a unique 10-week training collaboration between the Indian and French governments.

The teams include Belgian Malinois dogs, known for their expertise in detecting bombs and IEDs. Their handlers received additional physical training and French language basics for this mission. The deployment supports inter-national security cooperation between India and France.
