Cesc Fabregas Appointed Head Coach of Como FC After Leading Promotion

Cesc Fabregas has been named head coach of Como FC following his role in the club's promotion to Serie A. Fabregas, who ended his playing career at Como in 2023, previously served as assistant and interim coach. He steps into the role following the dismissal of Moreno Longo.

Cesc Fabregas has officially been appointed as the head coach of Como FC, the club announced on Friday. The Spaniard, a former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea midfielder, played a pivotal role in leading Como to promotion to Serie A as an assistant and interim coach.

Fabregas ended his illustrious playing career at Como in 2023 and quickly transitioned to a coaching role. After head coach Moreno Longo was dismissed, Fabregas took on interim duties, guiding the team from seventh to third in Serie B. This led to the appointment of Osian Roberts as interim coach, with Fabregas remaining as his assistant, and ultimately securing automatic promotion by finishing second in the league.

Roberts will now focus on his new role as head of development at the club. Fabregas expressed his gratitude towards the ownership group for trusting him with the head coach position, stating, 'It’s going to be a tough and important season, but myself and the rest of the coaching staff are ready and we all believe.'
