Opener Shafali Verma smashed an impressive 81 off 48 balls, powering India to a total of 178 for 3. Her partnership with Dayalan Hemalatha, who scored 47 off 42 balls, laid a strong foundation. Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten on 28. Smriti Mandhala captained the side in the absence of regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who was rested. Nepal's Sita Rana Magar took two wickets.

Nepal was restricted to 96 for nine in their innings, with Deepti Sharma's bowling figures of 3/13 standing out. Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy also contributed with two wickets each.
