Hemanth Muddappa Dominates National Drag Racing Championship
Bengaluru's Hemanth Muddappa of Mantra Racing achieved a remarkable triple victory and a second place in the third round of the MMSC-FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship. Known as the 'King of Drag Racing,' Muddappa secured four podium finishes and continued his reign as the fastest rider.
Bengaluru's Hemanth Muddappa of Mantra Racing maintained his dominance with an outstanding triple victory and a second-place finish in the third round of the MMSC-FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship on Sunday.
The 'King of Drag Racing,' with 12 National titles to his name, was in top form, claiming four podium spots and the fastest rider accolade.
The reigning champion in the unrestricted class once again dashed the opposition's hopes in the premier Super Sport class, securing wins in the 1051 to 1650cc and the 851 to 1050cc sections.
Additionally, Muddappa earned a second-place podium in the 551 to 850cc class, emerging as the most successful rider in Round 3.
He started with a podium finish in the 4-stroke 551 to 850cc Super Sport class on his Ninja 6R, trailing his arch-rival Mohammed Riyaz of Hyderabad, with another Hyderabad rider, Altaf Khan, coming in third.
Mudappa clocked a time of 8.110 seconds in the unrestricted class, outpacing his Bengaluru competitors Attaulla Baig and Mujahid Pasha, who finished second and third respectively.
Muddappa triumphed in the 851 to 1050cc Super Sport final run, recording a blistering 08.006 seconds, leaving Niranjan R Kumar (08.805) in second place and Khaja Awais (08.950) in third.
