Indian shooters Anjum Moudgil and Sift Kaur Samra did not qualify for the final of the women's 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. Anjum secured the 18th position with a score of 584, including 26 inner 10s, while Sift finished 31st, scoring 575 with 22 inner 10s.
Sift, who came into the Olympics as the reigning Asian Games champion, had a challenging run in the standing segment, shooting 93 and 94. During the kneeling stage, she scored 193 and managed to slightly recover in the prone segment with a 195, but a subsequent 187 in the standing series affected her final ranking.
This performance was a significant departure from Sift's showing at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, where she achieved a qualification score of 594 and won the event with a world record score of 469.6.
