63rd Subroto Cup Kicks Off with Enthralling Matches

The 63rd Subroto Cup commenced with thrilling matches, including a 4-1 victory by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and a 9-0 win by Porompat Sabal Leikai HS. The opening ceremony featured vibrant performances. A total of 34 teams, including international participants, are competing for the junior girls' category title.

The 63rd Subroto Cup got off to a spectacular start, featuring gripping matches and a festive opening ceremony. In Group G, Government High School Kohima and Home Mission School, Aizawl, ended their match in a goalless draw.

In Group A, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya from East Khasi Hills defeated Coast Guard Public School, Nani Daman, 4-1, while Sri Lanka School Football Association played to a 2-2 draw against Betkuchi High School, Guwahati. Group C saw Porompat Sabal Leikai HS from Manipur dominate Army Public School, Patiala, with an impressive 9-0 win, and SRV Govt. Model HSS Kerala won by walkover against Govt. Model SSS, Sector 22A, Chandigarh.

The event was officially inaugurated by chief guest Air Marshal RK Anand VSM, in the presence of India’s women’s national football team player Jyoti Chauhan. The ceremony included captivating performances by the Air Warriors Drill Team and students from the Air Force School, reflecting the spirit of football in India. The tournament features 34 teams, including international squads from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, competing in the junior girls' category. Group stage winners will advance to the knockouts, with finals scheduled for August 13.
