Nick Hockley, CEO of Cricket Australia, has announced his decision to step down after the upcoming season, concluding nearly 13 years with Australian cricket, including five years at the helm. Hockley called the decision tough but timely, noting it allows the Board ample time for a smooth succession. He remains focused on the imminent season and supporting the transition.

Cricket Australia Chairman Mike Baird confirmed Hockley's decision, lauding his leadership through the pandemic and the significant advancements made during his tenure. Baird emphasized Hockley's focus on delivering another successful summer for all stakeholders. The Board will soon initiate the search for a new CEO.

Hockley's tenure has seen remarkable achievements, including a strategic five-year plan, substantial media deals, and major victories for Australia’s national teams. Appointed interim CEO in 2020, Hockley has significantly influenced the sport's growth and stability. He is expected to step down by March 2025, contingent upon appointing his successor.
