The Wrestling Federation of India President, Sanjay Singh, hailed Aman Sehrawat as a 'rising star' after the young grappler clinched the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg wrestling event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The medal marked India's first in wrestling at the ongoing Games.

During an interview with ANI, Singh applauded Aman Sehrawat's performance in the bronze medal bout against Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz, which Sehrawat won 13-5. Singh expressed optimism that Sehrawat could secure a gold medal in future Olympic events.

India's Ambassador to France, Jawed Ashraf, also commended the young athlete, stating that they were thrilled with his victory and noted Sehrawat's confidence throughout the competition. He highlighted the improved performances across various sporting disciplines, calling this win a reflection of those efforts.

Olympic Council of Asia President, Randhir Singh, shared the joy of Sehrawat's achievement, expressing disappointment over Vinesh Phogat's disqualification but emphasizing the overall strong show by Indian wrestlers at the Games.

In a detailed rundown of the match, the Puerto Rican wrestler initially took a lead by securing points with a single-leg hold. However, Sehrawat made a powerful comeback, consistently scoring by targeting Cruz's shoulders. With just 37 seconds on the clock, Sehrawat took decisive points and secured his victory through technical superiority.
