The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to Macau for the first time in a decade with a fight night event scheduled for November 23, the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion announced on Thursday. This will be the UFC's fourth event in the special administrative region of China since its last appearance in August 2014.
'We are ecstatic to be back at this incredible destination city,' said Kevin Chang, UFC's senior vice president and head of Asia, in a press release. The UFC has been expanding its footprint in Asia, with events previously held in Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
In June 2019, UFC unveiled an MMA training center in Shanghai, which is currently hosting the third edition of their developmental series 'Road to UFC,' with semi-finals scheduled for August 23.
