Liverpool’s Transfer Silence: Slot Confident Ahead of EPL Start

Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot is confident that their lack of transfer activity won't weaken the team ahead of their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town. Despite not signing any new players, Slot believes the current squad is strong enough, supported by impressive pre-season performances.

Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot, remains unfazed by the club's lack of activity in the summer transfer window, asserting it won't impact the team ahead of their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town. The team has shown strong pre-season form against Arsenal and Manchester United.

Despite the offseason's inactivity, Slot tried to secure Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad but couldn't convince the midfielder to join Liverpool. Yet, Slot assured that the current squad is robust. 'We've got a really strong squad, and it's not easy to find players who can strengthen it,' he stated during a pre-match press conference as reported by Sky Sports.

'Richard Hughes is doing his best to fortify the squad, but if a player doesn't want to move, it's obvious they're not coming,' Slot added. While Liverpool is the only Premier League team without a new signing this summer, Slot believes team improvement can come through rigorous training. Liverpool faces newly-promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday at Portman Road.
